Payroll is where governance decisions, hours worked, and member compensation finally meet — and where mistakes hurt the most. FlockWorker's Payroll module is built so a 12-person worker co-op without a dedicated payroll administrator can run pay day with the same confidence as a 200-member ESOP operating in five states — no spreadsheets, no re-keying timesheets, and no third-party processor charging per check. Payroll sits between HR and Accounting and reflects governance decisions back into compensation. Every payroll run posts wage, tax, deduction, and employer-contribution journal entries to Accounting automatically, with “show the math” drill-downs from any GL line back to the pay item that produced it.
Members add a bank account via Stripe's SetupIntent / PaymentMethod flow, and FlockWorker triggers two micro-deposits to confirm ownership before any disbursement runs. Accounts only become eligible for direct deposit after the member confirms the deposit amounts.
Generate NACHA-compliant ACH files (PPD/CCD entries with proper batch and file control records) for upload to your bank's cash management portal. A payroll disaster-recovery export packages pay items, tax history, bank routing, and tax-doc state into a portable archive.
Generate W-2s and W-2c corrections from the same data that produced every pay stub, run year-end readiness diagnostics, and — with the Payroll Complete add-on — e-file W-2s directly to SSA BSO and 1099-NEC/MISC through Tax1099.
